It is almost time for the Narcissus! The Narcissus is by far the most common bulb here in the Netherlands. Hundreds of cultivars can be found in Dutch parks or by the side of the road. Very small ones like ‘Tête á Tête’ or large ones like ‘Carlton’ are everywhere! The reason? They return every year. Unlike tulips which are often gone forever after flowering (the non-botanical ones at least) Narcissus last from year to year, so long as you don’t cut the leaves too early. If you ever come to Holland and travel around the bulb fields of Lisse remember your sunglasses, you’ll need them for the fields of sunlight created by the wonderful Narcissus!
Why not travel with us this year and visit the Keukenhof and other private gardens. You can find details of the tour here
