Last month we had another amazing tour to the Spanish Island of Mallorca. Lots of beautiful gardens to visit! The gardens we viewed were mostly owned by expatriates and we saw a wide variety of different styles and influences during our stay on the island: Arabic, English perennial plants and roses in borders, French roses in a garden with a unique background of a mountain range as well as a Spanish collector’s garden. We even saw a very successful contemporary garden from a Swiss garden owner. Although Summer temperatures here can be extremely high and growing conditions very harsh the gardens that we visited were outstanding due to the huge amount of attention given to them by their owners. Is it too early to start talking about Mallorcan garden culture?
